Ashley and Jerrod are one of my pandemic couples, so among rescheduling their wedding date several times due to the pandemic, they hired some different vendors as well. In fact, they had to reschedule their date TWICE. My heart ached for them and wanted so bad for them to be able to have the North Carolina Wedding of their dreams without the stress of getting married during a pandemic.
Thankfully, Ashley is a co-owner of Dove Meadows Wedding Venue, so rescheduling with the venue (and most vendors) isn’t too bad of a situation for her.
I actually met Ashley several years back as she works for an AMAZING catering company for the Carolinas – Flipside Catering. In 2017, I was happy to hire her to cater my wedding rehearsal dinner. From then on, we’ve both worked for each other over the years. Seriously love that friends can also be business supporters as well!
Dove meadows literally has it all! It’s a small barn venue that caters to the couple looking for a more rustic wedding, it has a lake behind it for those wanting a more scenic view, and even some great taller grassy areas and woods for the couple on the hunt for a whimsical view as well.
The weather was questionable throughout the day but an hour before their ceremony, everything cleared up! They had gorgeous storm clouds above their heads during their ceremony but from the ceremony and into the rest of the evening, not a single raindrop! Talk about some G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S ceremony photos!
Jerrod & Ashley’s reception was incredibly fun! Everyone danced the night away, including her grandparents. The speeches made by her guests were both heartfelt and humorous and left us all, including myself, in tears and laughter.
Her wedding party though… whew!
This couple KNOWS how to pick a wedding party. The whole day basically was a party from the get-go. I don’t think I got to sit down once as there were so many great moments to capture throughout the entire night. At one point I even protected my camera from a bridesmaid and groomsman who exploded their beer all over the dance floor during their introduction! I laughed, gasped, and then laughed some more (and no camera equipment was harmed in the making of this photo).
After such an eventful wedding, i’m not sure how they possibly could have partied more for their reception, but i’m sure some much deserved sleep was necessary… seeing as ASHLEY WAS 14 WEEKS PREGNANT AT HER WEDDING!!!
Being a pandemic couple meant that even though their wedding took place in September, they actually got married in their backyard back in March. For as long as I’ve known Ashley, she’s wanted nothing more important than to be a wife and a mama so my heart SWELLED when she called me a month before the wedding to tell me the good news!
The day filled with glorious love, laughter, and happily ever after and they ended it with a gorgeous sparkler exit and then some fireworks!
Forever and always grateful to do what I do. If you’d like to see more weddings from me, click here!
